Integrated Management System Policy

Towards a resilient and sustainable economy to achieve leadership and prosperity

In line with the vision and strategy of the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism seeks to develop a resilient system for a future economy that strengthens the business environment through proactive policies and projects to raise the standard of living and societal prosperity. The Ministry is committed to developing the legislative and regulatory framework of the economic sector, enhancing the business environment, and preparing ambitious studies, policies, and plans in line with local and global economic developments. It also addresses challenges and difficulties faced by establishments in the domestic and external markets, promotes competition and market governance, and provides efficient digital services that foster innovation, research and development, strategic planning, and future foresight—meeting the requirements of customers and interested parties and exceeding their expectations.

In order to achieve these directions, our Policy focused on the following:

  • Providing services that meet the needs and requirements of customers—individuals, companies, and government entities—such as the protection of intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, patents, and industrial property; consumer protection; commercial registration; commercial agencies; branches of foreign establishments; private joint-stock companies; cooperatives; financial leasing; and international agreements and treaties.
  • Developing ambitious economic policies and plans according to the global and local economic developments, developing the necessary treatments, and resolving the difficulties that face establishments in the local and foreign markets;
  • Developing the new economy and future sectors through initiatives in the digital and green economy, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to build a resilient and sustainable economy based on innovation and knowledge.
  • Regulating the profession of auditors in line with international standards, and monitoring compliance with professional ethics to enhance transparency and integrity in accounting and financial practices.
  • Preparing studies and research related to the development of new future economic sectors and enhancing companies’ competitiveness.
  • Developing and shaping the national entrepreneurship strategy and developing the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector.
  • Combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism by supervising designated non-financial businesses and professions, applying due diligence measures, and raising awareness of compliance with international best practices.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement by using modern tools and technologies to add value to the Ministry’s operations and services in accordance with best practices, strategic directions, legal requirements, and the needs of concerned entities.
  • Preserving a fair, competitive market in accordance with the principle of economic freedom and fair competition.
  • Enhancing the ability to adapt and align with changes and challenges, and to optimally seize opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Promoting a culture of institutional excellence by applying government excellence standards in a way that supports the customer’s experience and increases their satisfaction.
  • Optimizing the use of resources, rationalizing consumption, protecting the environment, preventing pollution, and reducing environmental impacts, risks, incidents, occupational diseases, and work-related injuries.
  • Providing a safe and healthy work environment to protect employees, customers, and visitors, and to benefit from available opportunities, through the participation and consultation of all relevant stakeholders.
  • Applying the highest international standards in integrated management systems in accordance with the global standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 31000, ISO 37000, ISO 55001, ISO 22301) to ensure quality performance; environmental protection; the health and safety of individuals and infrastructure; risk management; the promotion of sound governance; sustainability in asset management; and business continuity—aligned with the Ministry’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
