Business Continuity Management System Policy
Preparedness today to ensure a sustainable tomorrow

As part of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s efforts to ensure the continuity of its critical operations and services under normal circumstances and in emergencies and crises, and to continue developing a resilient system for a future economy and delivering efficient digital services—amid evolving threats and risks—the Ministry is committed to implementing, maintaining, and continually improving a Business Continuity Management System in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 22301 and the national standard NCEMA 7000. This ensures the continuous availability of services, the execution of processes, and the fulfillment of the requirements and expectations of interested parties without delay or negative impact resulting from emergency situations, crises, or disasters.

To establish the Business Continuity Management System, our policy is focused on commitment to the following principles:

  • Supporting the Business Continuity Management System and providing the necessary resources to ensure its effectiveness.
  • Identifying critical processes and activities; identifying and assessing the risks that may affect them; and developing and updating response and recovery plans.
  • Conducting a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess and analyze the impact of disruptions to critical activities on the Ministry’s work in emergency situations and to determine the requirements necessary for business continuity.
  • Determination and evaluation of the timescale necessary to restore work, activities and services after any incident occurs;
  • Protecting against disruptions, reducing the likelihood or impact of their occurrence, and establishing mechanisms for preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Determining and assessing the timeframe required to restore work, activities, and services after any incident.
  • Assessing risks, protecting lives and property, enhancing the Ministry’s ability to remain operational during disruptions/emergencies, and demonstrating proactive control of risks effectively and efficiently.
  • Continuous improvement through learning from successful experiences, exercises, and relevant best practices.
  • Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements related to business continuity.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement through learning from experiences, successful exercises, and relevant best practices.
