H.E. Abdulla bin Touq discusses advancing economic and tourism cooperation and expanding mutual investment with Odisha Chief Minister

Meeting explores ways to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the two business communities

H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha. The meeting explored prospects for advancing economic and tourism relations between the UAE and India and leveraging the economic advantages and opportunities available to both sides. It also reviewed priority areas for cooperation, including tourism, food industries, logistics, manufacturing, energy, technology and the new economy.

During the meeting, H.E. highlighted that the UAE-India relations continue to grow across various fronts, particularly in the economic and tourism fields. This emphasises the role of the private sector in advancing them further and finding new avenues for sustainable growth.

H.E. Bin Touq called for exploring the UAE’s competitive economic and investment environment and capitalising on its diverse opportunities, advanced infrastructure, strategic location, and incentives and facilities that support business growth. H.E. also highlighted that Odisha benefits from a key coastal location, a diversified industrial base, natural resources and logistics capabilities, which enhance its attractiveness to UAE companies and offer new avenues for expanding mutual business activities.

The meeting discussed ways to further develop the tourism partnership, including joint promotion of destinations and tourism activities, highlighting tourism services, increasing the exchange of tourism delegations, sharing expertise and best practices, encouraging investments in hospitality and sustainable tourism, and developing joint tourism products and experiences. These efforts contribute to supporting tourism flows and exchanges and enabling both sides to leverage their cultural, heritage and natural assets.

Additionally, the meeting addressed strengthening of communication channels between the two business communities and encouraging UAE and Indian companies and entrepreneurs to explore partnership and mutual investment opportunities. This helps support the establishment of new projects and enhances private sector engagement in economic cooperation.
