Bin Touq: Monaco pavilion at Expo 2020 aptly reflects sustainable trade & investment opportunities the country offers to the world

Minister of Economy visits Monaco pavilion

H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, highlighted the remarkable bilateral relations between the UAE and Monaco that are built on the foundations of friendship, cooperation, and respect for mutual interests, during his visit to the country’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The Monaco pavilion is located in the Opportunity District, under the theme ‘Monaco 360 - a world of opportunities.’

H.E. said: "Standing in front of the Monaco pavilion, you feel, from the very first moments, as if you have moved to the heart of this beautiful country that has a unique national identity, culture, arts, and cultural and environmental diversity."

The Minister added: "The design adopted by the Monaco pavilion at Expo 2020 clearly conveys the diversity of sustainable trade and investment opportunities offered by Monaco and the significant progress it has made in the fields of infrastructure, urban development, renewable energy projects, as well as various environmental solutions."

H.E. Bin Touq was welcomed by Mr. Albert Croezi, Commissioner General of the Monaco Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020, who explained to him the idea behind the design inspired by the ‘Rock of Monaco.’ The pavilion meets its energy needs through photovoltaic solar panels installed on the outside, reflecting Monaco's progress in renewable energy use and in the fields of science, technology, infrastructure and digitization.
Inside the pavilion, visitors have the opportunity to learn about diverse activities, professions, cultural arts, and creative industries of Monaco by embarking on a journey that also offers a glimpse of Monaco's streets, gardens, and warm climate.
The economicn ties between the UAE and Monaco are growing as the non-oil trade between the two sides reached AED 5.4 million in 2020, with more than 160 trademarks  registered in the country's markets.
