Kingdom of Tonga highlights unique tourism and agricultural potential it possesses

H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, visited the Tonga pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, located in the Opportunity District under the slogan “The Earth is my Friend.”

During the visit, H.E. Al Zeyoudi underlined the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai in supporting the UAE’s position as an incubating environment for businesses and strengthening economic cooperation with all participating countries. He noted that the global event is of exceptional importance, as it coincides with Golden Jubilee celebrations of the UAE and the new path it is taking towards development, growth, and exploring the future over the next 50 years.

H.E. further explained that Expo 2020 Dubai is the most inclusive and largest in terms of international participation in the history of international exhibitions, as its theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” reflects one of the main objectives it strives to achieve. The Expo provides an opportunity to participate in the exploration of new ways to achieve growth and prosperity, laying a solid ground for building growth partnerships for the future in various areas of economy, business, trade, investment, talent attraction, tourism, and culture.

The Tonga Pavilion at Expo 2020 offers a unique experience for visitors and an fictional journey of learning and discovery, through numerous environmental presentations and initiatives that reflect the pavilion’s theme, “The Earth is my Friend.” These include “Through the Eyes of a Child,” which highlights the magical nature of the Kingdom and allows visitors an unforgettable encounter with the environment that will turn them into advocates for the Earth.

The Kingdom of Tonga's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is an important step in promoting the unique tourism and agricultural potential of this Pacific island - in addition to addressing the risks posed by climate change - at a global event involving governments, investors, and visitors from around the world.
